Detailing your Audi A4

The A4 is a year-round quattro commuter in the GTA, and after a few winters the lower body carries a crust of salt film that a wash alone does not shift. We decontaminate it, polish the hard Audi clear coat properly and seal it so the next slush rinses away. Inside, the beige leather and the brushed aluminum trim each get a cleaner suited to them, and allroad wagons get their faded cladding restored along with the cargo carpet.

What we watch for on a A4

• Audi clear coat is relatively hard, so a two-step correction clears years of brush-wash swirls without chasing the paint; we still measure and go gently on edges
• Brushed aluminum inlays stain if acidic wheel or glass cleaners touch them; we wipe them with a neutral cleaner and a dry microfibre
• The allroad's plastic lower cladding fades grey and holds road salt in its texture; a trim restorer and a thorough rinse bring it back
• Atlas Beige and Nougat leather show denim transfer on the driver bolster that a foaming leather cleaner lifts
• The quattro cars see a lot of winter kilometres, so the rocker panels and the area behind the front wheels carry thick salt film that needs decontamination before polishing

Luxury cars: soft paint, delicate trim

Premium interiors use more leather, open-pore wood and gloss trim, and premium paint is often softer. We use gentler chemistry, soft microfibre and slower machine passes so nothing is marred.
