What we watch for on a Town Car

• Light tan leather on private cars cracks and darkens with age; a gentle clean and a conditioner help, but we are honest about what worn leather will and will not come back to
• The chrome bumpers, grille and window trim are thick and respond beautifully to a metal polish, which makes an old Town Car look loved
• Single-stage paint on older black cars oxidizes; a compound and polish restore the gloss, followed by a durable sealant
• The enormous trunk hides a spare-tire well where water collects; we check it, dry it and treat any musty smell

Luxury cars: soft paint, delicate trim

Premium interiors use more leather, open-pore wood and gloss trim, and premium paint is often softer. We use gentler chemistry, soft microfibre and slower machine passes so nothing is marred.
