Detailing your Chevrolet Tahoe

Tahoes do heavy duty in the GTA as family trucks, boat haulers and airport black cars, and all three uses leave a lot of carpet and leather to deal with. What we watch for on a Tahoe

• Third rows on 2015–2020 trucks sit high with almost no cargo space behind them, so cargo rides on the folded seats and marks the seatbacks; we clean the backs as well as the cushions
• Running boards and tall rocker panels take salt spray on the 400 and 401; we wash under the boards and the rocker lips
• Black-car Tahoes need a spotless second row, clean glass and odour-free carpet on a repeat schedule; a maintenance interior keeps them ready
• Ex-police PPV units have rubber flooring and vinyl rear seats, which get scrubbed rather than shampooed, plus equipment holes in the dash
• Twenty-two-inch wheels on RST and High Country collect heavy brake dust and need gentle cleaners to keep the bright finish
