Detailing your Cadillac ATS

The ATS is a small, sharp sedan that is usually on its second owner in the GTA, often a young professional parking it in a condo garage downtown. The glossy CUE panel is the thing people notice first and it is the thing that scratches first, so we treat it like a phone screen. The leather and stitched dash get brushed and cleaned, the tiny trunk gets emptied and vacuumed, and the paint gets a polish and sealant that look good under the garage lights.

What we watch for on a ATS

• The glossy CUE panel with its touch-sensitive sliders scratches and fingerprints constantly; we clean it with a screen-safe cleaner and a plush microfibre only
• Cut-and-sew dash stitching holds dust along the thread lines; a soft brush lifts it before any cleaner
• The tiny trunk gets stuffed and the carpeted lid and hinges mark up; we vacuum the hinge wells and the deep rear corners
• ATS-V wheels sit close to Brembo brakes and cake with dust; an iron remover and soft brush protect the finish
• Black Raven and other dark colours on a car this low show swirls badly under parking-garage lights, so a one-step polish before a sealant is usual

Luxury cars: soft paint, delicate trim

Premium interiors use more leather, open-pore wood and gloss trim, and premium paint is often softer. We use gentler chemistry, soft microfibre and slower machine passes so nothing is marred.
