High-temperature dry steam for vents, seams, cup holders, seat belts and touchpoints — cleans and sanitizes without soaking anything.
Steam does something no spray bottle can: it puts heat and a small amount of moisture exactly where grime is stuck, melts it loose, and leaves the surface nearly dry. Auto Royale brings a commercial steamer to your driveway or garage and works through the whole cabin — vents, seams, cup holders, seat belts, the plastic under the door handles and the places a cloth never reaches.
People hear 'steam cleaning' and picture a soaked carpet. A proper dry vapour steamer runs well above the boiling point and releases vapour with very little liquid water, which is why it suits plastics, vinyl, cloth and tight spaces. We pair it with a microfibre towel wrapped over the nozzle so the loosened dirt gets lifted away rather than pushed around.
Most interior grime is a mix of skin oils, food residue, dust and whatever was in the air. Heat softens that film instantly, so we need less cleaner and far less scrubbing, which matters on soft-touch dashboards and piano-black trim that scratch easily.
High-temperature steam also reduces bacteria and dust mites on the surfaces it contacts. We use it on seat belts, steering wheels, gear selectors, door pulls and child-seat anchor points as part of our sanitization process, then wipe each surface dry.
The steamer earns its keep in the spots that collect the most and get cleaned the least.
Steam is not a cure-all, and a few surfaces need judgment. We keep the nozzle moving and at a distance on leather so it never gets hot enough to dry the hide out, and we condition it afterward. Touchscreens, instrument clusters and glossy trim get the towel, not direct vapour. Older headliners with failing adhesive can sag if saturated, so we steam those lightly or skip them.
On heavily soiled carpet, steam loosens dirt but does not remove it in volume. That is where hot-water extraction takes over; the two methods work together rather than replacing each other.
A steam pass is part of every interior detail we do, and it can be booked on its own as a sanitization visit after an illness, a new baby, a used-car purchase or a rideshare shift that went badly. We cover every touchpoint and every vent, finish with a mild disinfectant on hard surfaces, and leave the cabin dry and ready to drive. What you get is a noticeably cleaner, fresher interior; what we do not claim is a sterile one, because no vehicle interior stays that way after the next passenger.
Typical time: About 45–90 minutes as a standalone sanitization visit, or built into a 1.5–3 hour interior detail.
