Detailing your Ferrari SF90

The SF90 is the plug-in flagship, and the Assetto Fiorano cars arrive with exposed carbon aero and a painted livery stripe that cannot be polished across. We tape the stripe, polish and coat the carbon and correct the rest of the paint lightly before a coating. The charge port is cleaned by hand, the engine is dusted through the vents and the Spider's hardtop seals and drains are cleared so the roof keeps sealing.

What we watch for on a SF90

• Assetto Fiorano cars have exposed carbon fibre aero pieces and optional two-tone livery; the carbon gets a finishing polish and a coating, and the livery break is taped before polishing
• The charge port on the rear fender collects grit; we clean the flap and surround with a brush and a damp cloth
• The SF90 Spider's folding hardtop needs its seals cleaned and its drains cleared, or grit builds up and water finds its way into the cabin
• The rear engine cover vents collect leaves and dust during storage; we vacuum and wipe by hand and never pressure wash
• Carbon-ceramic brakes leave fine grey dust that needs a soft brush, and the large curved display inside takes a screen-safe cleaner only
