Detailing your Jaguar I-Pace

The I-Pace was Jaguar's first EV, and a lot of the ones in the GTA have the wool-blend Kvadrat seats that need fabric care rather than leather products. We clean the wool with a fabric cleaner and let it dry fully, brush out the flush door handle pockets and clean the glass roof from inside. There is no engine bay, so the time goes into the charge port flap, the small front trunk and a sealant for the paint.

What we watch for on a I-Pace

• The optional Kvadrat wool-blend seats need a fabric cleaner and a soft brush, and must dry fully to avoid water rings
• Flush door handles leave recesses that collect grit and ice; we clean the pockets with a soft brush
• The fixed glass roof has no shade on most cars and is cleaned from inside with a glass-safe cleaner only
• The charge port on the front fender collects salt spray; we clean the flap and surround with a brush and a damp cloth
• The small front trunk collects leaves around its seal; we clean the frunk and the seal rather than an engine bay

Electric vehicles: quiet, glassy and light on the engine bay

EVs have big glass roofs, minimal controls on screens, vegan leather and no engine bay to degrease. The work is mostly about glass clarity, screen-safe cleaning, paint protection and careful wheel and charge-port care.
