What we watch for on a MKS

• Cashmere-coloured leather and carpet show every bit of winter salt and coffee; a thorough extraction on the carpet and a gentle cleaner on the leather are the heart of the job
• Cooled seats draw air through the perforated leather, so dust and crumbs in the perforations need a soft brush and vacuum before any cleaner goes on
• The deep trunk with its carpeted lid and side bins holds more grit than you expect; we vacuum the bins and the gap behind the seatback
• Large chrome grille and lower chrome trim pit easily after a few winters; a metal polish and a sealant keep them presentable
• Most cars are now ten years old and the clear coat on the hood and roof may be oxidizing; we assess before polishing and keep the correction gentle

Premium interiors use more leather, open-pore wood and gloss trim, and premium paint is often softer. We use gentler chemistry, soft microfibre and slower machine passes so nothing is marred.
