A Sierra can be a drywaller's truck or a Denali Ultimate that has never seen a job site, and we detail both in the GTA every week. The work truck gets the dust blown out, the floors scrubbed and the bed and MultiPro tailgate cleaned fold by fold. The Denali gets its full-grain leather and open-pore wood cleaned with the right products and its big wheels handled gently. Both get a decontamination and sealant so the paint survives the salt season.

What we watch for on a Sierra 1500

• The MultiPro tailgate has an inner gate, a step and multiple hinges that trap salt and grit; we rinse and clean every fold so it keeps operating
• Denali Ultimate open-pore wood and full-grain leather need matte cleaners and gentle conditioning, never a shiny dressing
• CarbonPro beds are composite and resist scratches but hold dust in their texture; a scrub and rinse clean them without any dressing needed
• Work-truck cabs carry drywall dust in every vent; a dry vacuum and compressed air come before any wet cleaning
• AT4 and AT4X trucks with mud-terrain tires throw mud onto the bedsides and rear jambs that only a hand wash reaches

Pickups: work on the outside, family on the inside

Trucks get the roughest outside treatment and a surprisingly family-sized inside. We deal with bed rails, step bars, tar and tailgate grime on the outside, and crew-cab rear seats and floor liners on the inside.
