How we handle child car seats

We ask you to take the car seats out before we arrive. A correctly installed seat is a safety matter that belongs with the parent and the seat's manual, so we do not remove or reinstall them. With the seats out we can get at everything underneath: the crushed snacks, the stains on the bench, the anchors and the belt buckles that are usually sticky with juice.

If you would like, we vacuum the car seat shell and wipe it with a mild cleaner while it is out. We do not shampoo or soak the harness straps, since most manufacturers warn that strong cleaners and soaking can weaken the webbing. You reinstall the seat when the bench is dry.

Spilled milk, crayons and the rest of it

Sour milk is the one that sends people to Google. The smell lives in the foam, not the fabric, so we flush the area with hot-water extraction and follow with an enzyme treatment that breaks down the proteins rather than covering them up. Crayon on fabric comes out with gentle heat and a solvent that lifts the wax; on leather and plastic it is scraped and cleaned carefully so the surface is not marked.

Gum is frozen and lifted. Stickers come off the glass with steam and a plastic blade. Everything a small hand touches, from door handles to buckles and the back of the front seats, is steam cleaned and wiped rather than sprayed with something harsh, and we air the car out before we hand it back.

Booking around nap time and bedtime

Because we are open 24/7, the detail can happen during the afternoon nap while you are inside with the monitor, or after the kids are down for the night. You do not need to come outside at all. A three-row minivan or SUV takes longer than a sedan because there is simply more carpet and more seat, so tell us the vehicle when you text and we will block the right amount of time.

A fabric protectant on the seats and carpet after the detail makes the next juice box a wipe rather than a stain. A rubber cargo liner under the stroller and a kick mat on the back of the front seats take care of most of the rest.
