Detailing your Lotus Eletre

The Eletre is an electric SUV with pop-up lidar sensors, active grille shutters and a spoiler that deploys at speed, and all of those moving parts need to be cleaned closed and by hand. We wipe the sensors with a microfibre and glass cleaner, brush the shutters and spoiler gaps with foam and clean the charge port with a damp cloth. Wool-blend seats get a fabric cleaner and time to dry, and the 23-inch wheels get an iron remover.

What we watch for on a Eletre

• The deployable lidar sensors on the roof and front fenders are cleaned with a soft microfibre and glass cleaner, never a brush or pressure washer aimed at them
• The active grille shutters and the deployable rear spoiler have moving parts that trap grit; we clean them with a soft brush and foam while they are closed
• The wool-blend Kvadrat seats need a fabric cleaner and a soft brush, and must dry fully to avoid water rings
• The charge port collects grit; we clean the flap and surround with a brush and a damp cloth
• Twenty-three-inch wheels trap brake dust in their spokes; an iron remover and a long brush keep them clean
