The Urus is the Lamborghini that gets driven in January with a child seat in the back, so it needs the same winter treatment as any GTA family SUV plus care for the Alcantara and carbon. We decontaminate the lower body, dissolve the brake dust out of the 23-inch wheels and clean the suede-like surfaces with a dedicated product. What we watch for on a Urus

• Many Urus owners drive through winter, so the lower body and the 23-inch wheels carry salt film and brake dust that need decontamination and an iron remover before any polish
• Alcantara across the seats, dash and headliner darkens with hand oils and needs a microfibre-specific cleaner and a soft brush
• Performante cars have exposed carbon fibre aero and an optional matte paint; the carbon gets a coating and matte paint gets a matte-safe wash only
• Child seats are common in the Urus and leave crumbs and imprints on the rear leather; we lift them where the owner allows and clean the bench underneath
• The SE plug-in has a charge port on the rear fender that collects salt spray; we clean the flap with a brush and a damp cloth
