Getaway car, parents' car and the groomsmen's convoy detailed at the house or hotel, timed so everything is dry and gleaming for photos.
The car shows up in more wedding photos than most people expect: the bride stepping out at the ceremony, the couple leaving the reception, the convoy pulling into the venue. A dusty hood or a fingerprinted door in those shots is the kind of thing you notice forever. Auto Royale comes to wherever the cars are the night before or at dawn the morning of, and takes that worry off the list.
Wedding bookings are mostly about timing and logistics. We work around the hair and makeup schedule, the hotel parking situation and the fact that nobody in the wedding party has a spare minute that day. Our 24/7 hours mean a 4 a.m. start at the hotel is a normal request.
There are two good options. The first is the evening before, with the car parked in a garage overnight so it stays clean. The second is a dawn start the morning of, which works when the car has to sit outside or when it will be driven in from across the GTA. For a 2 p.m. ceremony, a 6 a.m. start on a full detail is finished by late morning with time to spare.
If the seats need shampooing, book two days ahead instead, so the fabric is completely dry before a dress or a rented tux touches it. An exterior-only detail the morning of can then be the final pass.
Most couples think of the getaway car first, but it is rarely the only vehicle in the photos.
Photographers shoot cars from low angles in bright light, which is the least forgiving view of paint. We polish out light swirls so the reflections are crisp, dress the tires in a satin finish that does not fling onto the paint, and clean the door jambs, because the open-door shot with the bride stepping out shows the sills and hinges clearly.
Inside, the back seat matters most. It is where the dress sits, so we leave the seats clean, dry and free of any dressing or protectant that could transfer onto fabric. Glass is cleaned inside and out so the through-the-window shots are not hazy.
Window markers and washable paint belong on glass only. On the paint they can stain the clear coat, especially on a hot day. Ribbons and bows go on mirrors and door handles with soft ties, never tape. Cans should hang from a hitch or tow hook, not the bumper cover, and streamers should be checked so they are not rubbing a painted edge on the drive.
A sealant or wax applied during the detail makes the next-day clean-up easier, since marker residue, bubble solution and confetti come off a protected surface with far less effort. We can come back after the weekend and reset the car.
Send the date, the time the cars leave for the ceremony, where they will be parked that morning, how many vehicles and what colour they are. White and black cars show everything and need the most time. If the ceremony is downtown and the cars are at a hotel, give us the parking level and we will sort out the rest with the front desk.
Typical time: A full inside-and-out takes 3–5 hours and an exterior refresh 1.5–3 hours, so a dawn start the morning of, or an evening booking the night before, leaves plenty of margin before the ceremony.
