Detailing your Chevrolet Suburban

A Suburban is the longest thing on most GTA streets, and detailing one is a half-day job with three rows of seats and a cargo area the size of a small bedroom. We take it row by row, extracting the carpets, cleaning the leather or cloth and reaching the roof vents in the back that collect dust. Outside we bring a ladder for the roof and wash every jamb and sill. The result is a family truck or shuttle that smells and looks new again.

What we watch for on a Suburban

• The cargo floor behind the third row is big enough for a hockey bag per kid, so the carpet there is usually the worst in the truck; extraction and a stiff brush bring it back
• Third-row climate vents in the pillars and roof collect dust and crumbs; we vacuum and steam them
• The roof is longer than most sedans and above head height, so it only gets washed when someone brings a ladder; we do
• Rear doors and jambs get opened by kids with muddy boots dozens of times a week; sills, jambs and door-bottom seals get a wash
• Big chrome grilles and bright trim pit from salt; a polish and a sealant keep them presentable

Full-size SUVs: a lot of vehicle to clean

Large SUVs have enormous glass areas, wide cargo floors and tall panels. A proper detail takes time and the right ladder-free reach tools, and the finish shows it.
