What we watch for on a XM

• The sculpted Alcantara headliner with its prism pattern and lighting is very hard to clean once stained, so we brush it dry and spot clean with minimal moisture
• Frozen matte and two-tone paint options need a matte-safe wash and sealant on the matte sections, and taping where two finishes meet before any polishing
• The 23-inch wheels sit flush with the arches and carry heavy brake dust that needs an iron remover and a long-handled brush
• The charge port on the front fender and the gold accent trim should be cleaned with a soft brush and no harsh wheel cleaner
• The vintage-look leather has a distressed finish that should be cleaned gently and conditioned with a matte product so it does not go shiny
