Spray paint, tags and permanent marker lifted from paint, glass and trim, with honest limits.
Vandalism is frustrating. Whether it is a tag on a door left in an overnight parking lot, a kid with a permanent marker on a rear seat or a tagging spree on a street, the question is the same: can it come off without hurting the car?
Often yes, but it depends on what was used, how long it has sat, and what it was applied to. We always test in a hidden spot first.
We will tell you honestly what is likely to come off, what may leave a faint ghost mark, and when a body shop or interior trim replacement is the better route.
Permanent marker and water-based paint pens usually lift from clear coat with a mild solvent and microfibre. Spray paint is trickier; fresh coats can be softened and lifted, while cured paint may bond into the clear coat.
On glass we use a razor blade and glass polish. On trim, textured plastic and rubber, marks are harder to see and harder to remove, so we use soft brushes and patience.
Glossy factory paint is generally the most forgiving. Matte finishes, satin wraps and textured trim hold marks and show polishing, so they need special care.
Strong solvents work on paint but can also dull or soften a thin or already damaged clear coat. That is why testing comes first and why we start with the mildest option.
If paint is faded, repainted, or a wrap or vinyl is involved, we move much more cautiously. Some wraps can be damaged by solvent, and we will recommend contacting the installer.
We also protect surrounding areas while we work: tape on trim edges, clean towels under the working area and a final wash to remove any solvent residue.
Spray paint that has cured for weeks, or marker that has soaked into porous plastic or cloth seats, may leave a ghost mark. We tell you that before we begin and stop when further work would risk the finish.
In those cases, options are polish to reduce it, a panel repaint at a body shop, or interior trim replacement.
A short pause is sometimes the smartest option. If a mark is fading with each pass, we stop and talk it through with you.
If the vandalism happened on public or rented property, file a police report and take photos before cleaning, since evidence may matter for a claim. We can provide an itemized invoice afterward.
We come to your driveway or lot, so you do not need to drive around with a tag on your door.
Once the mark is gone, a sealant or ceramic coating makes any repeat easier to clean.
Typical time: 1–4 hours depending on material, surface and how long the mark has cured.
