Clean-ups timed around your busy hours, with a receipt you can include in Lyft's damage fee report, done at your driveway or garage.
Every hour your Lyft car is off the road is an hour of fares you don't collect, and a rider mess tends to happen at the worst time: Friday night in the Entertainment District, or right before the Monday morning rush. Auto Royale is a mobile service that comes to your driveway, condo garage or a lot near you anywhere in the GTA, at any hour, so the car gets cleaned in your slow window instead of your busy one.
This page covers the two things Lyft drivers ask us about most: how Lyft's damage fee report works and where our receipt fits in, and how to get a clean-up done with the least possible downtime.
Lyft handles rider messes under what it calls a damage fee. The report is made through the Driver app on the specific ride: find the ride in your history, go to Help, and choose the option for reporting damage or a mess. Lyft asks for photos of the mess taken before it was cleaned and a description, and you can include documentation of the clean-up. Lyft reviews the report and decides whether a fee is charged to the rider and what amount; neither we nor the rider control that.
Our part is the documentation. The receipt we send shows the date and time of the clean-up, your vehicle, each service as a separate line and the amount paid, so the report has a clear professional record attached rather than a bottle of upholstery spray from Canadian Tire.
Most Lyft drivers in Toronto earn the bulk of their money in the morning commute, the evening commute and weekend nights. We schedule around those. The quiet windows that work best are mid-morning after the 9 a.m. rush dies down, the early afternoon before school pickups, and the hours after last call when you're done anyway.
Text us before you finish your last trip and we can often be at your parking spot shortly after you get home, so the car is cleaned while you eat and sleep instead of while you could be driving.
Not every mess needs the full treatment. A spilled coffee on a rubber mat, crumbs across the rear bench or a muddy footwell can be handled as a quick reset: vacuum, spot extraction, wipe-down of the touched surfaces, glass. The car is out of service for roughly an hour.
A full interior detail is the right call when the smell has moved into the headliner, when there's vomit or a spill that soaked into the foam, or when it's simply been months of riders. That means steam on every hard surface, shampoo and hot-water extraction on all the fabric, leather cleaned and conditioned, vents and crevices cleared, and ozone if the cabin needs it.
The more you send in your first text, the faster we can lock in a time and bring the right equipment.
Typical time: A rear-seat reset takes 45–75 minutes and a full interior detail 1.5–3 hours, scheduled in your quietest window.
