Mid-winter salt removal, carpet drying, anti-fog glass and door-seal conditioning, done in your garage or driveway between storms.
From the first salting in December to the last slush in March, a GTA car is in a fight it slowly loses. The brine the city sprays before a storm sticks to paint and metal and keeps working in the damp. Slush walks in on boots and dries into white rings on the carpet. Wet mats fog the windshield every morning, and one cold snap freezes the doors shut. Auto Royale works through all of it, in your garage or driveway, with the methods adjusted for the temperature.
Winter detailing is not about making the car look like July. It is about getting the salt off before it does lasting damage, keeping the inside dry, and making the car easier to live with until spring.
The problems arrive in a specific order, and they compound if nothing is done until April.
Washing a car outdoors in a deep freeze is a bad idea, because water finds its way into locks and seals and freezes there. We do exterior work on days above freezing, in your garage, or in an underground parking spot using rinseless methods. The wash concentrates on the wheel wells, rocker panels, door bottoms and lower bumpers where the salt packs in, followed by a drying pass on every seal and lock.
Once the paint is clean we put down a winter-grade sealant or spray wax. It will not last as long as a spring application, but it gives the salt a slick surface to slide off instead of a bare clear coat to bond to, and it makes the next wash faster.
Salt stains come out with a dedicated salt-dissolving solution worked into the carpet, followed by hot-water extraction, because scrubbing alone just spreads the mineral around. Then we dry the carpets properly with extraction and airflow, since damp carpet under a rubber mat is the main reason the windshield fogs and the cabin smells musty by February. Door sills, kick panels and the pedals get the same treatment.
If you are still on carpet mats in January, we will recommend a set of rubber or moulded liners. They catch the melt, lift out, and rinse off in thirty seconds.
Door seals freeze shut when they are wet and bare. We clean the rubber and treat it with a silicone-based conditioner so water beads off instead of bonding the seal to the frame. Inside, we strip the film from the glass that moisture clings to and apply an anti-fog treatment, and we clean the outside of the windshield and headlights so the salt haze is gone for night commutes along the 401.
Interior work happens in any weather. For exterior work, tell us whether you have a garage or an underground spot, and we will choose a day and method to match. Early mornings are dark, so we bring our own lights, and because we are open 24/7 a late-evening booking in a heated garage is often the most comfortable option for everyone. If a storm rolls in on your date, we text and move it.
Typical time: A winter interior with salt-stain extraction and drying takes 2–3 hours, an exterior salt wash and sealant 1.5–2.5 hours in a garage or on a mild day, and a full inside-and-out 3–5 hours.
