Full details in condo and apartment garages with rinseless washing, battery power and LED lighting, within your building's rules.
If you live in a tower in North York, downtown, Mississauga or Markham, your car lives on P2 or P3 and has never seen a hose. The garage is dim, the spot is tight, the building has rules about water, and the nearest car wash is a drive and a lineup. Auto Royale details cars in exactly these garages every week, using methods built for the setting rather than a driveway routine squeezed into a parking spot.
We arrive with everything: rinseless and waterless wash solutions, battery power for the vacuum, steamer and polisher, and LED lights so we can actually see the paint. Nothing is plugged into the building and nothing runs down the drain.
Most condo corporations prohibit washing cars in the garage, and the reason is runoff: soapy water heading for the drains, puddles on a sloped floor and a slip hazard for neighbours. Some allow it with notice to management; some say nothing at all. Our approach works under all of these, because a rinseless wash uses a small bucket of solution and plush towels, with the dirt lifted into the towel instead of rinsed onto the floor.
There is no pressure washer and no hose. Our tools run from battery packs, never a generator, which has no place in an enclosed garage. We keep the noise low, park in visitor parking or a spot you arrange, and check in with the concierge on arrival if your building wants that.
A rinseless solution is a high-lubricity cleaner that wraps around dirt so it lifts off the paint safely. We work one panel at a time with a fresh, soaked towel, wipe in straight lines, dry with a separate towel, and never return a dirty towel to the bucket. For light dust, which is most of what a garage-kept car collects, a waterless spray does the same job faster.
Winter is the exception. A car crusted with salt gets a pre-spray to loosen it before any towel touches the paint, and the lower panels and wheel wells get extra solution and extra towels. Wheels are cleaned with brushes and their own bucket so brake dust never meets the paint towels.
Underground garages are lit for walking, not for inspecting paint. We set up LED work lights around the car so swirls, water spots and missed areas show up as they would in daylight, and the interior is bright enough to find what fell under the seats. Everything runs on our own battery power, so we do not need an outlet near your spot.
A parked car underground picks up a film of concrete and brake dust from every vehicle that drives past. If the slab above leaks salt water, you get mineral streaks on the roof and hood. Tight spots with a pillar on one side mean doors cannot open fully, so we work the interior from the open side and, with your permission, shift the car to a wider spot for the exterior.
Text us the building address, your spot number and parking level, whether there is visitor parking and the ramp clearance, since some garages are too low for a van and we bring gear down on a cart. Tell us how we get in: a fob with the concierge, a buzz-in from your unit, or you meet us at the gate. Evening and overnight slots are popular in condos because the garage is empty and quiet.
Typical time: An interior or rinseless exterior detail takes 1.5–3 hours in your spot and a full inside-and-out 3–5 hours, with setup for lighting and power adding a few minutes.
