Vinyl seats, partitions, meters and trunks cleaned between shifts, at your home or the lot, for taxi and black-car drivers.
A GTA taxi runs the way no private car does: two drivers, two shifts, airport queues, hospital pickups and a back seat that might see 30 people before the day driver hands the keys to the night driver. Add 300,000 kilometres of road salt and a vinyl interior that was designed to be hosed down rather than loved, and you have a cleaning job with its own rules.
Auto Royale comes to the cab wherever it's parked, usually at home between shifts or at the lot, and cleans it with the right products for vinyl, plexiglass and the equipment a passenger car doesn't have. Limo and black-car drivers get the same treatment with leather and tinted glass in mind.
Vinyl is tough but it hates two things: harsh solvent cleaners that dry it out and crack it, and greasy dressings that leave it slippery and shiny. We clean taxi vinyl with a pH-neutral cleaner and a medium brush to lift the grime out of the grain, wipe it dry, and finish with a matte protectant that doesn't transfer onto a passenger's clothes.
The partition gets its own routine. Plexiglass and polycarbonate scratch and cloud if you hit them with ammonia glass cleaner or a dirty rag, so we use a plastic-safe cleaner and clean microfibre, both sides, including the cash tray and the speaker holes. The meter, the payment terminal, the roof-light switch and the grab handles get a damp wipe and a steam pass where it's safe.
A cab that runs two shifts is almost never parked, so we fit into the gaps. The most common slot is at the handover: the day driver brings the car home or to the lot, we do a 45 to 75 minute interior reset while the night driver gets ready, and the car goes back out. For a full interior with hot-water extraction on the carpet and a proper clean of the trunk, we book the car's one longer break in the week, often early Sunday morning or overnight, since we're open 24/7.
If the cab is single-shifted, the easiest arrangement is to detail it in your driveway while you sleep.
We'll be straight with you. Cleaning brings back colour, kills the smell and gets the grease off the door panels, steering wheel and headliner, and that's the bulk of what a passenger notices. It does not repair split vinyl seams, a cracked dash or a worn-through driver's seat bolster. On the outside, we can restore yellowed headlights and faded black bumper trim, which makes an older cab look cared for when it's lined up with the others at the airport.
Carpet and the driver's floor are where the mileage really shows. Years of boots leave salt crust and a grey film that a vacuum doesn't touch; we scrub it, extract it with hot water and let it dry before the next shift.
Black-car work is about presentation rather than durability: leather cleaned and conditioned without a shiny finish, tinted rear glass cleaned without streaks, the rear console and cup holders cleared of sticky residue from drinks, and a trunk that looks good when a client's luggage goes in. We also do exterior washes and a sealant for cars that need to arrive looking right at a hotel or the corporate lot.
Typical time: An interior reset at shift change takes 45–75 minutes; a full interior with trunk and extraction takes 1.5–3 hours.
