In the GTA the 5 Series is the executive commuter and the airport limo, so it collects a lot of kilometres and a lot of rear-seat use. We spend time on the back carpets, the door jambs and the open-pore wood that cannot take ordinary dressings. On the outside, big wheels mean heavy brake dust and the soft clear coat holds swirls, so a decontamination wash and a light polish make a visible difference before protection goes on.

What we watch for on a 5 Series

• The open-pore wood trim on higher trims has no gloss layer, so we clean it with a barely damp microfibre and never a silicone dressing that would darken the grain
• The curved display and the backlit interaction bar on 2024 and newer cars show every fingerprint; we use a glass-safe cleaner and a lint-free towel
• Veganza synthetic leather on new cars cleans easily, but it still holds denim transfer on light colours if it is left for months
• Many 5 Series work as airport and corporate chauffeur cars in the GTA, so the rear seat and rear carpets often need more attention than the front
• Soft paint plus 19- to 21-inch wheels means swirls and heavy brake dust; a decontamination wash and a fine polish restore the depth on dark metallics

Premium interiors use more leather, open-pore wood and gloss trim, and premium paint is often softer. We use gentler chemistry, soft microfibre and slower machine passes so nothing is marred.
