Fast clean-up after a passenger or child gets sick: removal, extraction, enzyme treatment and surface sanitization. Invoice provided.
It happens at 2 a.m. after a bar run, on the 401 on the way to Grandma's, or on the first hot day of a rideshare shift. Vomit in a car is urgent for a simple reason: stomach acid and partly digested food start working on fabric, leather and foam immediately, and the smell sets in within hours. Auto Royale is open around the clock and comes to wherever the car is parked, anywhere in the GTA.
The clean-up is only half of it. The other half is paperwork and downtime: rideshare and taxi drivers need an itemized invoice to submit with a cleaning-fee claim and need the car back on the road quickly, and parents need to know the car seat area is genuinely clean before the kids are back in it. We handle both without drama.
Before we arrive, a little triage goes a long way. Scrape or lift solids off with a piece of cardboard or a stiff card rather than wiping, which spreads it into the weave. Blot liquid with paper towels, pressing straight down. Open the windows. Do not pour water on cloth or carpet, because it carries the mess deeper into the padding, and do not use bleach or household disinfectant on leather or plastics. Then call or text us with a photo if you can; it tells us what tools and products to load.
We remove anything remaining, then treat the area with an enzyme cleaner made for protein and bodily fluids and let it dwell so the enzymes break down the organic material in the fibres and the foam beneath. Hot-water extraction follows, repeated until the recovery water runs clear, which pulls out the residue, the acid and the cleaner together. Hard surfaces such as seat belt buckles, door panels, the console and seat plastics are steamed and wiped with a disinfectant.
Leather gets a different treatment: a pH-neutral cleaner to neutralize the acid, a thorough wipe-down including perforations and stitching, and conditioner afterward. If the mess reached the seat belt, we pull the webbing out fully and clean it along its whole length, because that is where the smell hides. We finish by checking under the seat and in the seat-back pocket, where splatter travels further than people expect.
Sanitizing a car seat means removing the organic matter, breaking down what soaked in, extracting it, and treating the surfaces with heat and a disinfectant to reduce bacteria to a level that is safe to sit on and no longer smells. It does not mean a sterile, hospital-grade result, and we do not use that language. A car interior is porous fabric and foam, not stainless steel; what you can expect from us is a seat that is clean, odour-free and dry enough to use, with the problem dealt with at its source rather than covered with fragrance.
If a passenger got sick, photograph the mess before anything is touched, note the trip details, and book us. We provide an itemized invoice describing the clean-up, which you can submit with your cleaning-fee claim in the Uber or Lyft app or to your taxi brokerage. We work at your home or wherever the car is parked, including overnight, so you lose a few hours rather than a day.
Kids get car sick on the DVP and in the back of a minivan heading up Highway 400 to the cottage, and the mess usually lands on the child seat and the vehicle seat together. We clean the vehicle seat, the surrounding carpet and the plastics thoroughly, and we can clean the child seat shell and buckle on request; fabric covers come off for the washing machine at home per the manufacturer's directions.
Typical time: Usually 1–2.5 hours depending on how far the mess spread and the material involved, plus an hour or two of drying.
