Detailing your Lexus RX

The RX is the luxury SUV we see more than any other in the GTA, and it is usually a family car with cream seats that have seen a lot of juice boxes. We foam the light leather so it stays even, extract the carpets and work the RX L third row from the tailgate. The soft clear coat takes a fine polish well, the sunroof drains get cleared and older cars get their headlights restored so the whole vehicle looks the same age.

What we watch for on a RX

• This is the most common luxury SUV in the GTA, and most arrive with light Birch or Parchment seats that show denim dye and juice; a foaming cleaner and a soft brush restore them evenly
• Lexus clear coat is on the softer side, so years of brush washes leave swirls on Caviar and Nebula Grey that a fine polish clears without chasing the paint
• RX L third rows collect crumbs and the cargo well behind them is tight; we fold the second row and work from the tailgate
• Spring maple keys and pine needles block the sunroof drains on the RX and send water into the headliner; we clear the drain channels on every exterior detail
• Older third-generation cars often have hazy headlights and a chalky roof that a restoration and a correction fix
